PSALM 40:1-5
To make way for another vehicle to pass, I gently pulled the car off the road. Since it had been raining for weeks, the parking lot was flooded. I found the car stuck when I was about to leave. As the wheels turned, the mud engulfed them further and deeper.
I required assistance because I could not move without a push. Two young men could be seen off in the distance, and they cheerfully waved and shouted back at me. They successfully pushed the car back onto the road, thanks to their combined strength.
When David cried out for help, Psalm 40 describes how trustworthy God was. David knew he could always call on God for deliverance, whether the pit in this song actually existed or it relates to difficult circumstances.
When we pray to God, He will also help us. Although He often works through other individuals, He occasionally intervenes directly. We may rely on His faithfulness when we acknowledge our need for Him—and perhaps for others as well.
🙏🏻We praise You, heavenly Father, that You can rescue us from any pit, no matter how deep.
