1 PETER 5:6–11
In my first year at secondary school, I was always careful—double-checking homework, listening closely in class. But as I settled in, I became overconfident. One term, I stopped studying properly and failed a major exam.
That failure reminded me how easily comfort can lead to carelessness.
Peter warns us not to drift through life unaware. He urges us to be alert because the devil is actively seeking to lead us astray (v. 8). Like students preparing for an exam, we must stay focused, resisting temptation and standing firm in faith (v. 9). Thankfully, we are not alone—God strengthens us through trials and makes us strong, firm and steadfast (v. 10).
