SOMEONE TO TRUST

JOHN 13:33–35; PROVERBS 20:6

My friend struggles to trust people due to hurt and rumours spread about him in the past.

His stand strikes a sad chord in me because it brings up memories of unanticipated betrayals in my own life. Scripture really gives a very honest account of our nature. The author of Proverbs 20:6 expresses the same sorrow as my friend, permanently preserving the hurt caused by treachery.

The cruelty of others is only part of the story. Jesus made genuine love possible, and His disciples would know they were His followers through their love. Despite hurtful people, Jesus’ unfailing love ensures unconditional support and care. Resting in His love can lead to healing, community, and the courage to love others as He did.

🙏 Lord, give us trustworthy friends and make us trustworthy friends.
