SHOW OFF YOUR LIGHT (ALL SAINTS’ DAY)

MATTHEW 5:13-16

A young girl wondered the meaning of a saint. Her mother took her to a magnificent church to admire the exquisite stained-glass windows depicting biblical scenes. She exclaimed aloud, “Now I understand exactly who saints are,” as she took in the beauty of it all. “They are those who allow light to shine forth!”

Saints are not just people who lived perfect lives and performed miracles, but those who belong to God through faith in Christ. They have the high calling of serving God and reflecting their relationship with Him. Apostle Paul prayed for Christians to see themselves as treasured inheritances of Christ and saints of God (Ephesians 1:18).

Then, what do we see when we look in the mirror? No stained glass, no halos. However, if we are living out our purpose, we will appear to be individuals who are allowing the rich colours of God’s love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control to show through—possibly without even realising it.

Saints are people through whom God’s light shines.

🙏Lord Jesus, You are the light of the world. Thank You for wanting to shine that light in our lives.
