SANDCASTLES

LUKE 12:22-34

Sandcastles are models of castles (made from sand) that are usually built by children while they are playing.

When we were children, some of us spent hours building impressive sandcastles without thinking that it was only a matter of time before they broke up and all of our hard work will be over.

We often make the same mistake in life, spending a lot of time and energy building our little “castles” and enjoying our successes. It may all seem like it is worthwhile, but it may not be worth it in the end.

In Luke 12, Jesus challenges His followers about how they spend their time and resources, which speaks volumes about their eternal perspective.

God wants us to spend our time and treasures building His kingdom, not ours. To do otherwise is like building sandcastles.

🙏The things which we see are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal – may we build more of the eternal in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
