PROVERBS 3:1-8
“Do not be worried. I know where we are heading to,” the driver assured his passengers. Then a voice that sounded almost human said, “Rerouting… rerouting.” It was from the GPS. Everyone knew he was going the wrong way now!
Millions of drivers nowadays recognise when they have gone off course or missed a turn when their GPS device reroutes them and starts mapping a new route to get them back on track.
It is not unusual for followers of Jesus to require assistance in order to get back on track spiritually. We may willfully stray off course because we believe we know best, or we may gently drift away, ignorant of the fact that we are drifting from the path God intends for us.
The Holy Spirit, who convicts us of our sin, has been given to all believers by God. He raises the alarm and awakens our conscience when we stray from His path (like the GPS device). We may choose to ignore the warning, but we do so at our peril.
What a relief to know that God is at work in our lives through the Holy Spirit’s convicting work! We can continue on a road that is pleasant to God with His support and guidance.
🙏🏼 Holy Spirit, help us know Your still, small voice – so we may make God’s will our choice.
