RECALLING

PSALM 119:11, 17–19, 130–134

Growing older can be challenging due to the fear of dementia and short-term memory loss. A medical doctor and an expert on Alzheimer’s disease suggest that patients’ brains are so worn and habitual that they can still sing along to old hymns. Spiritual disciplines like reading Scripture, praying, and singing hymns can help embed truth in the brain, enabling prompt access.

In Psalm 119:11, the power of hiding God’s words in our hearts can prevent sin, strengthen us, teach obedience, and guide our actions. This gives hope and understanding. Even when memory slips, God’s Word remains stored in our hearts, ensuring that even as our minds lose their youth, God’s words will continue to speak to us. This demonstrates the importance of keeping God’s words in our hearts.

Even in the face of fading memories, we are surrounded by His love and care since He has promised it to us.

WELCOME TO NOVEMBER AND HAVE A WONDERFUL ALL SAINTS’ DAY!
