JOHN 13:3–17
The church commissioned a new group of leaders who participated in a memorable foot-washing ceremony, symbolising their roles as servant-leaders, with the congregation observing as they washed each other’s feet.
Jesus Christ, in John 13, poured water into a basin and began washing His disciples feet, stating that no servant is greater than their master or messenger than the one who sent them. Jesus also emphasised that He is among them as one who serves.
Jesus’s humility and example serve as an example for all of us to serve others. He did not come to be served, but to serve. Jesus exemplifies the importance of leadership and servanthood, demonstrating that it is not below anyone’s dignity to serve others.
🙏 Dear Lord, help us serve others. Guide us to set aside our personal interests and desires to provide help to those who need it.
