JUDGES 6:11–16, 24
Gideon received a divine message from the Lord in the middle of the workday. The angel declared that the Lord was with him, but Gideon was curious about why everything happened to his people, questioning why it seemed that God had forgotten about His people (Judges 6:12–13).
God did not answer Gideon’s question about why He never intervened after seven years of enemy attacks, starvation, and hiding in caves. Instead, He gave Gideon hope for the future, promising to be with him and help destroy the Midianites.
Have you ever questioned God’s reasons for allowing hardship in your life? God might satisfy you with His nearness today and remind you that you can rely on His strength when you feel weak instead of providing an answer to that particular question.
The knowledge that God, who has promised to never leave or forsake His people, is with us wherever we go and whatever we do brings us comfort.
🙏Lord, even when you do not answer our questions, we know you are with us.
