NUMBERS 11:1-10
The Israelites frequently complained against Moses when they faced challenges (see Exodus 16:2; 17:3; Numbers 14:2; 16:41; 20:3). Three days after leaving Egypt, they made their first complaint (Exodus 15:22–24).
Many Israelites listened to complaints for a long period of time, which had a bad impact on them. God was angered by this. In addition to the difficulties of the desert, they were not happy with God’s manna provision. Israel’s complaints concealed the fact that the manna was a gift from God’s compassionate hand. God had to punish complaining because it may spread like a virus and taint the heart with unthankfulness.
Rehearsing the faithfulness and goodness of God to us each day is a safe approach to putting an end to complaining and a lack of gratitude.
