POCKETS FULL OF JOY

PSALMS 16:11

“Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God,” said the philosopher-theologian Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.

Often, moments of joy erupts in our lives, which we need to save, cherish and use during times of struggle/hardship.

Life can get tough; the valleys outnumber the hills and the springs of refreshment seem to never appear. But that is where these pockets full of joy come in. When something makes us smile, we save it carefully. When someone brings joy into our lives, we enjoy the moment fully, and put it in another pocket. When we are blessed, loved, and valued, we zip it up in that special pocket where it cannot fall out; we may just need the reminder very soon.

Even in hardship, there are pockets of joy. We need to pay attention to the wonders around us and not the mountains of challenges. We might just find that those pockets of joy, sent straight from the Father, are what we need to get us through the hard days.
