PLAYING IN CONCERT

ROMANS 12:3–8

I was impressed by the performance of a group of 11- and 12-year-olds in a school band concert, showcasing their collective skill and talent. The woodwinds, brass, and percussion sections all contributed to the beautiful music.

Paul wrote to Jesus’ followers, stating that they form one body in Christ, with each member belonging to all others. They possess different gifts, such as prophecy, service, teaching, encouragement, giving, leadership, and mercy, which should be exercised freely for the good of all (1 Corinthians 12:7).

‘In concert’ refers to agreement in design or plan, combined action, harmony, or accord. This is the Lord’s plan for His children through faith in Jesus Christ, focusing on cooperation over competition.

We are constantly on stage, playing our part in God’s concert band, with every instrument essential. The best music is achieved when we play in unity with others.

🙏Lord, you are the Conductor of our lives. Help us play in concert with your children today.
