MATTHEW 5:43–48; JOHN 8:9–11
It appears paradoxical that Jesus taught both absolute grace and absolute ideals.
Jesus emphasised the importance of being perfect like our heavenly Father (Matthew 5:48) and held that we should love God with all our heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37).
Yet the same Jesus offered absolute grace to various individuals, including an adulteress, a thief on the cross, a disciple who denied knowing Him, and Saul, who persecuted Christians. One of His last words on earth was, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34).”
We may feel unworthy because of Jesus’ absolute ideals, but we need to realise that grace is present in His life and teachings.
He reaches out to the desperate, needy, broken, and those who cannot make it on their own.
🙏 Lord Jesus, may we experience Your grace and a renewed relationship with You today.
