2 THESSALONIANS 3:16
Helen is a very special lady. When I think of her, one word comes to mind: peace. The calm, rested look on her face has not changed much in the six years I have known her, despite her husband being diagnosed with cancer and hospitalised.
When I asked her what the secret of her peace was, she said, “It is not a secret, it is Jesus in me. I have no other explanation for the calm I feel in the midst of this storm.”
The secret of peace is having Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord. As we draw close to Him, peace becomes real. Things like illness, trouble at school, exams, or other challenges will always be there, but peace tells us that God has our life in His hands. When we agree with Him, we know that all things work together for good. He is in control.
Have we experienced this peace beyond what we can see before us? Are we convinced that God is in control?
