PSALM 66:19
During a memorial service for C. S. Lewis, a close friend revealed that Lewis always responded to every letter he received from readers all over the world with a handwritten personal reply. Lewis’ general attitude toward people, according to his friend, was one of concern and respect. He complimented people by paying attention to their words.
Lewis mirrored God’s extraordinary attention to what we say to Him in prayer in this way. The author of Psalm 66 cried out to God in a moment of tremendous difficulty. Later, he thanked God for His assistance, claiming that God had heard him and responded to his plea.
The Lord listens and knows our hearts when we pray. With the psalmist, we can truly declare He listens to our words at all times, even in our times of greatest need.
God is always paying attention to us.
🙏🏼Thank You Lord for listening to our prayers. We rest peacefully on Your Word.
