OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

NEHEMIAH 6:1-15

Despite difficulties in obtaining materials and finding time for her demanding job and toddler’s needs, Mary was able to complete the project in just two hours of committed work.

Nehemiah was tasked by God to restore Jerusalem after 150 years of ruin (Nehemiah 2:3–5, 12). Despite facing mockery, attacks, distraction, and temptation, he led the people in their labour, completing the task in 52 days.

It takes much more than a human ambition or goal to overcome such obstacles; Nehemiah was motivated by the knowledge that God had chosen him for the job. Despite overwhelming opposition, his sense of purpose inspired the people to follow his leadership. When God assigns us a duty, whether it is to mend a relationship or to communicate what He has done in our lives, He provides us with the abilities and fortitude we need to carry out His will no matter what obstacles we face.

🙏 Lord, equip Your children with the strength to persevere and finish the tasks You have given them. May their labours bring You glory.
