PSALM 32:1–11
A young girl was surprised when a friend picked an item from a gift shop, put it into her pocket, and yanked her out the door of the shop without paying for them. The guilt gnawed for a week before she confessed to her mom. Feeling guilty, she returned the stolen items, apologised, and promised never to steal again. The shop owner told her not to return, but her mom forgave her and assured her she had made things right. She slept peacefully that night.
King David found solace in forgiveness by confession (Ps. 32:1-2), and he was filled with joy.
When we confess and ask for forgiveness, we have no control over how other people may react to us or the consequences of our wrongdoing. But by confirming that our guilt is gone—forever—the Lord can enable us to experience liberation from the shackles of sin and peace.
🙏Lord, help us to understand that our guilt is totally and permanently erased when we confess our sins and receive Your forgiveness.
