PSALM 34:1–10
Fear sneaks into the heart, causing helplessness and hopelessness. It steals peace and concentration. It turns focus inward, revealing a heart that struggles to trust.
David’s prayer in Psalm 34 encourages us to seek the Lord and trust in Him to deliver us from our fears. By focusing on Him, our fears fade, and we trust Him to be in control. David also mentions a different type of fear: a deep respect and awe for the One who surrounds us and delivers us.
The awe of God’s goodness helps us put our fears into perspective, allowing us to relax into His peace. David concludes that those who fear Him lack nothing. Through the fear of the Lord, we can be delivered from our fears.
🙏 Lord, we are aware of our worries and fears, and we place them in Your hands. Give us peace as we face the day.
