1 THESSALONIANS 1:6–10
When William Wilberforce devoted his life to ending the British slave trade, his unwavering Christian convictions inspired many others to join the cause. His perseverance eventually contributed to the abolition of the slave trade in the British Empire, demonstrating how steadfast faith can influence a nation.
In 1 Thessalonians 1:6–10, Paul rejoices that the Thessalonian believers became examples to other Christians. Though they suffered for their faith, they received God’s word with joy, turned from idols to serve the living and true God, and eagerly awaited Christ’s return. Their transformed lives spread the message of the gospel far beyond their city.
Faith is never meant to remain private. As we faithfully follow Christ with joy and perseverance, our lives can encourage others to trust Him and become living testimonies of His transforming grace.
