PSALM 93
Situated on the border between Brazil and Argentina, the breathtaking Iguazu Falls comprise 275 falls spanning 2.7 km (1.67 miles) along the Iguazu River. The words of Psalm 93:4, “Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty!” are etched on a wall on the Brazilian side of the Falls. The words “God is always greater than all of our troubles” appear beneath it.
Psalm 93, written at a time when kings reign, asserts that God is the ultimate King, reigning from eternity and remaining greater than all floods or waves.
The roar of a waterfall is majestic, but facing physical, financial, or relational problems can be overwhelming. Christians can turn to the Lord, who is greater than all troubles, as He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
We cannot compare God’s boundless might to what we have imagined.
