MATTHEW 17:24–27
A week or so after James assumed he would never find his cell phone again, he received a call from a fisherman who had recovered his phone, which remained working even after it dried.
In the Bible, odd stories are often found. Peter was asked if Jesus paid the temple tax, and Jesus turned it into a teaching moment.
Jesus instructed Peter to go fishing because He was cautious not to “cause offence” (v. 27). This is where the narrative becomes strange. In the mouth of the first fish Peter caught, he discovered money.
Jesus will provide for us even though life will continue to present us with its many demands. When we are fishing for our Father, we can depend on Him for all we need, even when He has to provide them in odd ways.
🙏 Help us, Lord, to rejoice in the amazing knowledge that You supply all we require.
