EPHESIANS 2:10
What would you say is the greatest of God’s masterpieces? Is it the earth, colourful mountains, the valleys, sun and stars? These are just a few, because there is so much more. So, out of all His masterpieces throughout all time and creation, what do you suppose He is most proud of? What does God consider His greatest masterpiece? If you are not sure, I will give you a hint. It is of this world. If you are still not sure, here is another hint. It is not ‘something,’ it is ‘someone.’ (And it is not Jesus, because He was not created. As the second Person of the Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – He is the one through whom all creation came into being.)
The answer is you. And me. Us as a whole. And each of us individually. We are God’s masterpiece. If you can believe it, every human being in whom Jesus Christ lives, despite our failures or errors is God’s greatest masterpiece in all of creation! We are not His masterpiece because we are so good and amazing. No, we are His masterpiece because He declared it to be so. We did not earn this status, it was conferred upon us by God Himself. In Christ, you and I are God’s masterpiece. This is our true identity.
Each one of us is made for a purpose and only the Master Designer knows what that is. One thing is for certain – when we let Jesus bring about that transformation in His Way and in His Time, we will become His masterpieces.
