EPHESIANS 4:2–13
After 22 years, he still questions the functioning of his marriage to Mary. He is a writer, and she is a statistician. They come from different worlds. He works with words and his wife with numbers. She arrives early for appointments; he is usually late. They try new things and learn patience from each other.
With a good reason, Paul compares marriage to the church in Ephesians 5:21–33. Similar to marriage, the church unites diverse individuals, necessitating that they learn patience, humility, and how to bear with one another in love (4:2). Additionally, similar to marriage, a church can grow and unite through a shared foundation of faith and service to one another (vv. 11–13).
Relationship differences can be very frustrating, both in marriage and the church. However, when properly handled, they can make us more like Christ.
