PROVERBS 16:9
The covid-19 pandemic has radically changed a lot of our plans. From canceled weddings, burials and graduations to forced unemployment and serious health challenges, etc. Many people are still wondering what is going on. What they are facing is not what they planned for. And as Proverbs reminds us, we can make lots of plans, only to have God deliver a radically different pathway.
When our plans get tossed aside for seasons of greater hardship or difficulty, the immediate human response is often one of anger or frustration.
From Genesis to Revelation, God has repeatedly done some of His best work in messed up plans. He knows how to make use of the mess to pass on a message. Mary and Joseph did not plan to give birth to the Saviour in a manger; Sarah and Abraham did not plan to have a child at old age, and Paul did not plan to spend his retirement years in jail. But look at what God did through the lives of these people, and others and how He blessed them and used them through hard/tough times.
So, let us be patient and trust God’s timing in our strange new way of life, as He has a purpose for the changes we are experiencing now. Trust Him and let Him work!
