MAKING THE FIRST MOVE

2 CORINTHIANS 5:11–21

Tham Dashu, feeling disconnected, started attending the same church with his daughter, but they never connected due to past offenses. He would sneak in during singing and leave promptly after the service.

The gospel was preached to him by congregation members, but Tham consistently graciously declined their invitation to follow Jesus. However, he continued attending church.

Tham fell ill, and his daughter wrote him a letter about how Christ changed her life. She sought reconciliation with her dad, and Tham put his faith in Jesus. Tham passed away a few days later, at peace with God and his family.

Paul encourages us to spread the truth of God’s love and forgiveness, stating that it is through Christ’s love that we are compelled to carry out His reconciliation work (2 Corinthians 5:14).

Our capacity for forgiveness can make it clear to others that God longs to reconcile mankind to Himself.

🙏 Lord, help us seek reconciliation with others.
