MAKE IT SIMPLE

2 CORINTHIANS 1:12-14

The fourth president of the United States, James Madison, was a key figure in the development of the US constitution. He warned against making laws that are “so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood.” That counsel still needs to be heeded a little more frequently today!

When it comes to sharing the gospel, we often make it more difficult than it needs to be. We should be thankful that the Bible offers the good news of salvation in simple, understandable terms. Jesus told Nicodemus, an educated Pharisee that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Later on, He declared that He was the way, the truth, and the life. There is no other way to the Father than through Him (John 14:6). To the jailer in Philippi who inquired about salvation, the apostle Paul stated it plainly. He informed him that if he believed in Jesus Christ, he would be saved (Acts 16:31).

God’s wonderful love story is simple. He sent His Son to save us from the clutches of sin and death. This is amazing news that even children can comprehend.
