HEBREWS 10:32–11:6
The author of Hebrews emphasised the importance of true faith, highlighting the lives of giants of faith and the need for a deeper understanding of faith, despite the common misconception of faith as a magic formula.
He pointed out the importance of faith in pleasing God, stating that without it, it is impossible. He uses the term ‘endured’ (Hebrews 11:27) to describe the resilience of Moses and clearly states that some heroes of faith faced challenges such as flogging, stoning, or being killed. Despite their faith, many of them did not receive the promised rewards.
Faith is not a simple formula; it can lead to victory or require a strong determination to endure.
Our faith is based on the belief that God is in ultimate control and will fulfil His promises, whether in this life or the next.
