1 CORINTHIANS 11:23-34
People seldom ever saw themselves in the past, before the creation of mirrors or shiny surfaces. One of the few places they could see their reflections was in puddles of water, streams, and rivers. Mirrors, however, altered that. And the development of cameras heightened people’s interest in our appearance. We now have enduring memories of who we are. We may become preoccupied with our appearance and lose interest in looking inward since it is nice to watch ourselves on camera.
A good spiritual existence requires self-examination (1 Corinthians 11:28). This is best done as we look into the mirror of God’s Word (the Bible).
It is better for our relationships with others and with God to be aware, confess our sins, and make changes to our behaviour.
🙏🏻 O Lord, help us to look into the mirror of Your Word to see ourselves more clearly.
