MARK 10:13–16
The little girl danced happily to the music, spinning and waving her arms, while her mother smiled.
My heart lifted as I watched and wanted to join her, but I did not. I had lost the joy and wonder of childhood. Though we grow and mature, we should not lose our joy and wonder, especially with God.
When Jesus was on Earth, He welcomed children and used them in His teachings. He told His disciples not to stop parents from bringing their children to Him, emphasising the importance of childlike qualities like joy, trust, and humility.
Real, childlike prayers are what our loving Father is seeking, not polished ones. Let us be honest: Even the world’s most educated person lacks a vocabulary that would allow them to properly speak with the Almighty God! Therefore, He desires that we approach Him with innocent, childish eagerness.
Faith shines brightest in a childlike heart.
🙏Dear God, help your children forget their cares at your feet, trusting everything will be okay. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
