LETTING GO

GENESIS 12:1–9

John rented a tandem bike so that we could go on a ride together. I noticed that since I was at the back, his large shoulders were blocking my view of the road ahead. Our direction was only regulated by the front handlebars; mine supported my upper body only. I needed to have faith that John would lead us securely on our path, or I could be annoyed by my lack of control.

God instructed Abram to leave his homeland without providing specific details about the new land. Instead, God instructed him to go to the land He would show him. Abram’s obedience to God’s instructions, despite lacking details, is credited to him as faith.

Let us try to follow Abram’s example of obeying and believing in God if we find ourselves struggling with doubt or a lack of control in our lives. The Almighty will guide us wisely.

🙏 Help us, Lord, to trust You with the uncertainty in our lives.
