2 CORINTHIANS 3:3
On the very day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, another great leader, Clive Staples Lewis, kicked the bucket. This Oxford scholar was a brilliant writer who had switched from atheism to Christianity. With a strong Christian message, he wrote intellectual books, science fiction, children’s fantasy, and other publications. Many people have been converted as a result of his writings.
Some christians are called to write to teach others about Christ, but all believers are required to live as “epistles,” or letters of Christ according to the apostle Paul (2 Corinthians 3:3).
This does not imply that we are pieces of paper on which God’s message is written. However, as living “letters,” we can show how Jesus Christ influences how we treat people and try to lead lives of honesty.
A handful may have the same impact as C. S. Lewis, but we are all called to honour the One who loves us and has paid the price for us!
To everyone who reads our lives, we are Christ’s “recommendation letters.”
🙏🏼Lord, help us to live in such a way that others are drawn to You and the abundant life You give.
