LET US TALK ABOUT DEATH

HEBREWS 9:27

One question that many do not want to think about is this – what lies beyond death? Society treats death like most of our ancestors treated sex – it is best not to talk about it.

Advances in medicine bear the weight of promising interventions to prolong earthly existence. However, the Bible explains that death is never the problem, but what happens next (Romans 14:7-9). As soon as we accept God’s invitation in Christ and cling to salvation, we find that death itself is subject to the authority of God; it is simply the vehicle to bring us into the presence of God – our eternal rest.

When we are with Jesus, we do not need to be afraid of death or of dying. We no longer have to fear the end of our life.

Is the thought of death something we avoid because it makes us uncomfortable? Let us reflect on God’s promise to accompany us in our earthly life and to bring us into His presence.

🙏Lord, thank You that our lives are safe in Your hands, both now and into our future. Amen.
