PSALM 139:14–18
The son of a friend of mine is working on counting to ten. He counts everything, including trees and toys. He counts the toes on my feet and flowering plants he passes on his way to school—things I usually forget to count.
He is teaching me to count again, reminding me of the good things in my life, such as new friends, answered prayers, tears of joy, and laughter.
God’s blessings of salvation, reconciliation, and eternal life are too numerous to count, as described in Psalm 40:5, making it difficult to do it with our ten fingers.
Let us join David in praising God for everything that He has done for us and for all His priceless thoughts about us (139:17–18).
Let us learn to count again!
