
PHILIPPIANS 2:5–11
Shakespeare, Pelé, Elvis, Obama, Azikiwe. Only one name is necessary to identify them because they are all so well-known. Because of who and what they accomplished, they have continued to be significant figures in history. However, one name is significantly superior to them and all others!
The angel instructed Mary and Joseph to name Jesus Jesus, as he would save people from sins and be called the Son of the Most High (Matthew 1:21; Luke 1:32). He came as a servant, humbled, and died on the cross, allowing anyone who received Him to be forgiven and freed from sin.
Paul pointed out in his letter that God gave Jesus a name above all others, putting Him in a superior position.
Jesus is the name we cling to. His love will never waver, and He will never abandon us.
Augustine of Hippo said, “Jesus Christ is not valued at all until He is valued above all.”
🙏Jesus, You are the name above all names, our Saviour and Lord.
