PSALM 67
At a conference, two inspiring conversations occurred. A pastor spent eleven years in prison for a wrongful murder conviction, while a group of families faced persecution in their homeland but were betrayed by the same people who were assigned to rescue them. Both cases highlight the lack of justice, showing the world’s brokenness.
Psalm 67 encourages God’s people to share His love and justice with the world. The psalmist encourages the nations to be glad and sing for joy, as He will rule with equity and guide the earth’s nations.
The Bible writers recognised that equity, or fairness and justice, is a crucial aspect of God’s love, but they also acknowledged that it will only be fully realised in the future. Until then, we can help to point others to our God’s divine justice as described in Amos 5:24.
🙏 God, help us pursue justice in our current circumstance, while waiting for the day when You will rectify all things.
