PHILIPPIANS 1:10
Life is not made by the dreams that we dream but by the choices that we make.
Our lives today are the sum total of all the choices we have made up to this point.
The apostle Paul asked that we “approve things that are excellent” (Philippian 1:10). In any given situation, we have a whole spectrum of choices – ranging from really bad choices, to the mediocrity of average choices, to choices that are good, and then to those that are excellent. God wants to move us across the spectrum, past our natural instincts, all the way to excellent choices.
It is challenging to make the most excellent choice, especially if there are not many others following that same path. Sometimes it may feel as if our desires and freedoms have been suppressed. But if we follow Paul’s advice, we will notice some really positive outcomes.
Let us make the choice to live a life filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Joshua was right when he said “choose you this day…” (Joshua 24:15).
The choices we make will chart the course of life we take; we either choose the path of light, or stray off in darkest.
* May we make excellent choices and watch the ripple effect of blessings, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
