2 CORINTHIANS 6:16; 1 PETER 2:5
At a particular time when David sinned and needed God’s presence and mercy, He sent him to Ornan and told David to build an altar on his threshing floor. Thank God he obeyed and received God’s mercy (1 Chronicles 21:26).
Like David, it is our responsibility to build an altar to the Lord in our hearts, maintain it, and visit it frequently. To take our sins, sorrow, faults, and failings to Him at this altar, letting His fire consume them and correct us. We take our joys, and praise, sharing them with our Master and submitting them to Him. We also seek His face concerning our requests.
It is at the altar where God answers from Heaven by fire. Since our bodies are His temple.
I encourage you today to develop this altar-consciousness. Some may have to repair their neglected altar and start communing with God once again. It is a joy to know that God eagerly desires to spend time with us.
