ISAIAH 2:1–4
After a nine-year-old boy died in his hometown of New Orleans, a man decided to work with authorities to provide trumpets and music lessons for youths. The objective was to reduce gun violence and foster peace in the city by offering young people safe, productive activities.
Like that nine-year-old, Jesus came and died to give us peace with God and others.
God’s vision for the future is a peaceful society where violence will cease, and nations will no longer fight or train for war. Weapons will be reformed for constructive purposes, and instead of war, people will worship God together.
We can serve our communities by praying and bringing peace to our troubled world, as we cannot transform it by our own power, but we can invite others to walk in God’s paths, as stated in Isaiah 2:3.
