IN SEASON AND OUT OF SEASON (2)

2 TIMOTHY 4:2

“The birth of Christ is the central event in the history of the earth – the very thing the whole story has been about.” – C.S. Lewis

Advent is the first season in the church’s calendar. It means ‘Coming’ in Latin (Adventus). Since the 7th century A.D., Christians have included this celebration in their preparation for Christmas Day.

Advent begins four weeks before Christmas and its purpose is to prepare us for the celebration of the birth of Christ and remind us that we are waiting for His second coming.

Are we really prepared? Are we waiting? May God bless our preparations and fulfill our eager expectations in this season.
