PSALM 89:1–17
Before starting his day’s job as a cook in his community in the seventeenth century, the monk Brother Lawrence would pray for God’s grace to stay in His presence. He continued to talk to God while working, listening for His guidance. He looked for and discovered a sense of his maker’s love regardless of what was going on.
Every moment can be lived in God’s presence. Blessed are the people that know and walk in the light of His presence (Psalm 89:15).
Our lives are filled with moments of pause, such as waiting in lines or airports, that can be both frustrating and an opportunity to learn to walk in the light of God’s presence.
🙏Lord God, help us to always be with You.
