1 THESSALONIANS 5:16–18
Nigeria, despite its abundant energy resources, is grappling with a severe energy crisis due to factors like inadequate budgetary support, corruption, poor maintenance, deteriorating infrastructure, power generation issues, and macroeconomic instability.
Some neighbourhoods can experience frequent power disruptions, lasting up to twenty-four hours and three times a week, causing inconvenience and preventing the use of common household appliances.
Our Christian neighbour often asks, “Is this something to give thanks to God for also?” Naturally, we give thanks to God for everything; we say it all the time. Still, it is difficult for her to accept it when it has to do with annoying power outages.
Her belief in thanking God in all circumstances was rekindled when a truck hit an electricity pole, causing high-tension cables to fall over several houses. Her house would have probably burned down, and her family and herself would have perished if there was power.
It can be difficult to say, “Thanks, Lord,” in the face of challenging circumstances. Whether or not we can perceive God’s purpose in every situation, we can be grateful that He consistently sees a chance for us to trust Him.
🙏Lord Jesus, help us to see you at work in every circumstance, no matter how difficult.
