IMAGINARY FRIEND?

ROMANS 1:18-25

In 2010, three billboards in Denver and Colorado Springs were purchased by atheists to display messages that read, “God is an imaginary friend; choose reality, it will be better for all of us.”

Clearly, the bold statement compares Christians to children who create a make-believe companion with their fantastic imaginations. Is God, on the other hand, an imaginary friend?

In fact, all things point to His reality. The world’s creation demonstrates that there is a Designer behind the universe (Rom. 1:18-20). Behind every human’s feeling of good and wrong is a Lawgiver (Rom. 2:14-15). The same trait that the Creator possesses is reflected in the creativity we express in music and art (Ex. 35:31-32). In human form, Christ portrays what God is like (Heb. 1:1-4).

According to the Bible, there are and will be those who deny God’s existence. But James reminds us of His existence and how He was embraced by an Old Testament believer – Abraham, who was called “God’s Friend” (James 2:23).

Have you encountered the power of the redeeming God? He sent His Son to be your true, everlasting friend (John 15:15).

🙏🏼 Thank You Jesus for being our friend.
