LUKE 6:46–49
My friends noticed that their living room was sinking after a few years of living there; a window would not open, and cracks emerged on the walls. This room, they discovered, had been added without a foundation. It took months of labour to fix the poor job as builders erected a new foundation. The window could now open, and the cracks disappeared. However, I realised the need for a strong foundation.
This also applies to our own lives.
Jesus used a parable to illustrate the importance of listening to Him, comparing it to building a house on a firm foundation. He assured His hearers that their faith would not be shaken by storms. By listening to and obeying Jesus, we can find peace and strengthen our love for Him through reading the Bible, praying, and learning from other Christians. This foundation, when faced with challenges like betrayal, pain, or disappointment, can provide the necessary support to stand firm.
🙏 Lord Jesus, help Your children to know that their solid foundation rests in You, with Your Word giving them wisdom and strength.
