JOHN 5:1–8
In some African villages, the ground cracks during long dry seasons—nothing grows, and hope fades. But when the rains return, even the hardest earth softens, and life springs up again.
This is what Jesus did for the man at Bethesda. For thirty-eight years, he lay waiting, his hope dried up. Then Jesus came along and asked him if he wanted to get well. It was not sarcasm—it was compassion. With that question, Jesus began to restore not just his body, but his hope.
Like the dry land, we too have barren places in our lives. Jesus sees us and lovingly calls us to rise and walk again.
🙏 May the Lord restore your hope in Him. Amen.
