1 CHRONICLES 16:8–27
His four-year-old child is a chatterbox with lots of questions. But he has the regrettable habit of talking to him even while he is not looking. “Please look at me when you are talking—I cannot hear you,” is something he finds himself repeating a lot.
We often talk to God without truly “looking” at Him, so I believe that God sometimes wants to communicate the same thing to us—not because He cannot hear us. We ask for relief, yet we stay self-absorbed and preoccupied with our own concerns.
Our concerns can be effectively addressed by refocusing on God’s character, which includes His love, forgiveness, sovereignty, and grace, which provide comfort and understanding in addressing our challenges.
Focusing on the divine face can provide strength and comfort, even in the face of unanswered questions.
🙏Lord, let the light of Your face shine on us.
