2 KINGS 6:15–23
We rarely witness most of what occurs in the universe. Many things are either moving too quickly or too slowly for us to see.
We are reminded of our limited capacity to perceive and comprehend what is occurring in the spiritual realm by our limited capacity to perceive and comprehend the tremendous and exquisite detail of things in the physical world. God is at work all around us, doing things more wonderful than we can fathom. But because of the limitations of our spiritual vision, we cannot see them. But the prophet Elisha was able to witness God’s miraculous operation firsthand. God also helped his terrified servant by opening his eyes so that he might see the angelic army that had been sent to battle on their behalf (2 Kings 6:17).
Fear makes us feel helpless and weak, and it makes us believe we are the only people in the world. Yet God has promised that the power of His Spirit in us is greater than all the might of the world (1 John 4:4).
We need to focus on the good that God is doing that we cannot see whenever the bad that we can see makes us depressed.
🙏🏻Lord Jesus, may our security rest in You and not in what happens to us or around us.
