HEART POSTURES

2 CHRONICLES 6:7–9, 12–15

He closes his eyes during church praise, focusing on the harmonica he is playing and the music, to block out distractions and perform his best, praising God.

Some people question the necessity of closing our eyes during prayer, as it can be challenging to do so every time and in all places.

There are no specific body positions for prayer with God, as seen in King Solomon’s dedication of the temple, as well as various positions mentioned in the Bible, such as kneeling, standing, and lying face down.

The posture of our heart is crucial, as everything we do flows from it. Our hearts should be bowed in adoration, gratitude, and humility when praying to our loving God, as His eyes are open and attentive to the prayers of His people (2 Chronicles 6:40).

🙏Lord, direct our focus towards You always.
