HEALTHY FOOD

PROVERBS 4:20-27

When it comes to buying healthy and nutritious food, my wife is a careful shopper. She is continuously on the lookout for natural foods that promote good health.

I have often felt that her buying habits are similar to what God looks for in our lives: it is what is on the inside that matters, despite how appealing the outside may be. It is no surprise that the writer of Proverbs urges us to be careful what we put into our hearts, for issues of life arise from there (Proverbs 4:23). Wearing the latest styles and maintaining a youthful appearance are meaningless if our hearts are filled with greed, anger, pride, and other negative emotions.

So, ask yourself this question: Do others see a heart full of healthy, Christ-honouring elements after they get past the packaging of my life?

The inside contents of our hearts are more essential than the packaging on the outside.

🙏🏼Lord, teach us to value our hearts more than the externals.
