MATTHEW 6:1–4
Faith, a church member, volunteered to mentor a young woman, but her efforts were overlooked by church leaders. They assigned a staff member to care for the woman, leaving Faith feeling discouraged and unsure of her role in the church.
One day, the young woman expressed gratitude for Faith’s comfort, causing her to feel encouraged and continue meeting with her regularly.
Despite feeling unappreciated when our efforts are not recognised, Scripture reminds us that God knows our actions and rewards us when we serve for His sake, not for man’s praise. Jesus encourages us to do our giving secretly (Matthew 6:4).
🙏Lord, forgive us for the times when we crave others’ recognition and praise. Help us to serve for Your glory alone.
