GOD HAS HEARD

1 SAMUEL 1:9-20

Sarah told her daughter that she was going to read a grown-up book for a while before they continue to look at books again after reading a number of children’s books with her. She picked up a book and started reading quietly. A little while afterwards, her daughter gave her a skeptical look and remarked, “Mum, you are not really reading.” She reasoned that since she was not speaking as she usually did while reading along with her, she was probably not processing the words.

Prayer can be silent, just like reading. As she prayed, Hannah – who yearned for a child of her own, poured out her heart. Although her lips were moving, no one could hear her voice (1 Samuel 1:13). The priest (Eli) misunderstood what was going on. She had to explain that she was actually praying. Hannah prayed in silence, and God answered by giving her a son.

Every prayer we make, even those that never leave our lips, is seen and heard by God because He searches our hearts and minds. Because He is all-knowing, we can pray with deep conviction that He will hear us and respond. As a result, even when no one else can hear us, we can never stop praising Him, seeking His guidance, and offering Him thanks for blessings.

When we pour out our hearts to God, He fills them with peace.

πŸ™πŸΌ Song πŸŽ΅πŸŽΆπŸŽΌ:
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
that calls me from a world of care,
and bids me at my Father’s throne
make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
my soul has often found relief,
and oft escaped the tempter’s snare
by thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
